A community market, built by volunteers, for the farmers, makers, and families of Taylor and beyond.
Heritage Square Farmers Market was established in August 2019 under the pavilion in Heritage Square Park, in the heart of downtown Taylor. Since then it has run every Saturday, year-round, connecting the community with the people who grow and make its food.
The mission of the market is to provide Taylor and its surrounding areas with locally grown farm products, locally prepared foods, and artisan goods — and to attract customers to the Taylor area. Our focus is on products from Williamson County and the surrounding counties, alongside a limited number of ready-to-eat foods, value-added products, and food-based entrepreneurs.
Behind that mission is a bigger goal: a stronger local food system that supports the region's agricultural producers and small businesses.
The market is a project sponsored by the City of Taylor Main Street Program and run by a volunteer Board of Directors — a Market Manager, Assistant Market Manager, Treasurer, Secretary, and Marketing Manager.
The board meets on the second Monday of every month in the conference room at City Hall.
Friends of the Market is our community ambassador group — neighbors who help spread the word, support local agriculture, and build the connections that keep a small-town market thriving.
